Trying to relocate libraries to faster ext HD - cannot locate the "Repair/Relocate" option in Native Access…all I find is Release Notes, Installation Paths, Uninstall. What am I not doing…?
Thanks for this. FWIW - when I was swimming in the problem I was NOT in the most current version of NA. The Maintenance tab revealed only options that were not helpful…updated, problem solved. Thanks for weighing in!
at the bottom left of the window , there’s a list of things , setting etc , I think it’s under maintenance
Ah! Thanks! "Repair Installed Products" - is that what I'm looking for!? I'll give it a shot.
Hmmm…Still cannot perform Repair/Relocate…
Is manually uninstall and reinstall in new location the next best thing?
no , don’t do that What os , I’m on Mac , so I copy the folder in the shared folder to the external drive , then move the original folder that breaks the link to native access,ie it can’t find them , then it will give you the option to relocate / repair for each library, you could try what I suggested before or do each one manually
previews doesn’t like to be move , if you want to move that you have to download it again , if you are ok with it being in its original place, it’s 8gb , move the folder with just previews back to the original location, it will still work then
after you’ve moved everything , set your new location in the preferences
OS 13.7.3 - I see what you're suggesting. And I even understand the logic of it. (Crazy that you can't just DO WHAT THE MANUAL SAYS…right?!)
I've moved the files to the new HD. If I just remove the orig ext HD, that should serve the same function ('it can't find them'), yes? Gonna try…
Thanks for your help!
What you can do is name the new hdd the same as the existing hdd , as long as it an external , it should work without having to do anything
copy the whole shared folder in that case
Great idea (for next time). It's working and everything is falling into its proper place. Thanks, again!
You’re welcome
another tip I just come across , if you want to move previews, the original folder is called NBPL , if you move it , rename it previews, then you can point native access to it , without having to re download it
@Brad C. If you are using the latest version of Native Access, you should have a locate product content for all the libraries you moved.
“NBPL” folder should be renamed to “Previews” (with upper-case “P”) after relocation to another volume, then point Native Access to this new location. Same with Maschine 2 Factory Library—rename “Maschine 2 Library” folder to “Maschine 2 Factory Library” after folder relocation.
