Feature Request: Track Delay Parameter for Maschine Software

Hello Native Instruments Team,

I’d like to suggest a feature that would enhance workflow efficiency in the Maschine software. Currently, we have the option to adjust swing globally, per group or per track, which is incredibly useful. However, I propose adding a Track Delay parameter next to the swing control.

How It Would Work:

  • Track Delay Parameter: Allow users to shift MIDI data forward or backward in time by setting positive or negative values (in milliseconds or ticks).
  • Use Case: This would be especially useful for instruments like staccato strings, which often have slight inherent delays due to their natural attack characteristics. Instead of manually adjusting MIDI notes, users could simply offset the track timing for tighter grooves or more natural feel.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Groove Control: Perfect for micro-timing adjustments beyond swing, allowing for advanced humanization.
  • Efficiency: Reduces the need for tedious MIDI note nudging.
  • Versatility: Could apply to both MIDI and audio tracks for phase correction or creative effects.

I believe this would be a simple yet powerful addition to Maschine’s already intuitive workflow. Thanks for considering!

Best,
Mason Dean Dreiling

    Totally second this!!!

I think this is a feature which is so important and often missed. To me it makes no sense NOT to have something like this. Groove is everything after all and without this its much harder to lock in the transients and get a chunky sound which, for such a capable Maschine is dissappointing. Still love Maschine, I have 2 Maschine+ and would absolutely love this feature.

And then also Midi Groove Templates would be the icing on the cake!! I don't see many asking for this so it probably won't get implemented, so come on NI don't you want Mascine to be the grooviest on the block !???!

Auto lock transient would be the ultimate. No ones done that one. One day maybe…

    ppqn also hugely important.
