Hello community,

I would like to precise that I'm a complete beginner in Maschine software and in music production in general.
Considering that I'm try learning finger drumming, recently I bought a Maschine Mikro MK3 mainly for the famous quality of their Pads ignoring the fact that the system is a lot more than this.
So, looking at the Maschine software in bundle, I find it is really interesting to be used to produce beats or bases to be used also as background for my guitar sessions.
Unfortunately I realized that mainly all the sound, kits and instruments bundled with the producte are all oriented to electronic music and genres a little bit far from my style.
Everything is however really nice and fun but I would like to understand if there is the possibility to expand the sounds library with something more oriented to other genres (POP, Rock, Funk) released from Native Instruments directly or also through other brands.

Thanks a lot for feedback and sorry for my very basic doubts

Have a listen to the Amplified Funk and Conant Gardens expansions. They were put together by Amp Fiddler, who worked with Parliament and Funkadelic in his youth. Conant also features DJ Dez Andres, and has a lot of J Dilla's sounds.

Neo Boogie, Midnight Sunset are good too.

A lot of the expansions in the Funk/Soul section on the website might appeal.

Agree… have a look at all the Expansions, their description and a listen at the previews you can find in their pages.

But also: remember that you can load ANY sound you want to the Maschine pads (now it also accepts other formats than .wav). And, since you want to learn finger drumming, it will also allow you to dispose the sounds in the best way that fits your style, allowing to reach them with your fingers. NI Expansions disposition isn’t always the best one for finger drummers (but they can always be moved how you prefer)

What I mean is… you can compose your own kit (and save it) with the exact acoustic sounds yow want/need and in the position you want/need.
If you don’t already have your own sounds library, you can find MAAAANY sampled sounds on the internet (even for free, to start without spending too much money).

A couple links to start, but it’s enough you Google “free drums samples” and a whole world will open in front of you

Oh… also… Maschine is a sampler…so you can record whatever you already have… maybe a good drums plugin that you like…or your own real drums (or a friend’s one).

Expansions are just providing you (in a very comfortable and work-free way) what you can do on your own
