Surface Pro Copilot+PC Laptops

The new Microsoft Surface Pro Copilot + PC Laptop runs the the Qualcomm Snapdragon and Snapdragon Elite Processors. These ARM based processors run a emulation software called Prism on Windows operating systems. Can these laptops run Traktor and Maschine?

    Good question.

    Do you have access to one of those computers? If so, then ypou could instal demo software to test it out.

    @Stevan I do not have access to one of them. They have been discounted in my area and I am seriously considering getting one IF they work with Traktor and Maschine.

    I have not tested it myself, but AFAIK it should work ™️with the build in emulation. But it will be slow'ish.

    I also wouldn't bet that Microsoft app is on the same level as Rosetta 2 by Apple. Apple has been doing this for much longer time. Hopefully somebody has been able to test and let us all know.

    It’s a question (NI on Snapdragon) that has been already raised multiple times here, and some users advocate for it not being possible (or at least satisfying), but it seems not based on direct experience, since they don’t own the device.

    What is sure is that at the moment no Snapdragon Surface owner has ever come to confirm or not NI’s softwares are working on it

    I do not have Snapdragon version of MS Surface (and I would not use it even if I get it for free…), but I have old MS Surface 7 Pro with i5 CPU and it runs Traktor very well.

    I doubt Snapdragon Surface would run Traktor satisfactory if at all. There are two reasons. I know that many audiointerfaces do not run under WoA. Native drivers are needed and they are not provided. And even in CC mode at least certain interfaces (like RME ones) had problems. (RME interfaces now have WoA native drivers and everything works.)

    The second reason is that Traktor needs pretty much resources and emulation makes things worse….

    If you want MS Surface just for DJing, I would recomend MS Surface 7+ Pro (i5). It is the last Surface that does not have big.little and also last passively cooled (i5 version, i7 is cooled). Also one may change SSD for bigger relatively easily. (MS 7+ Pro is the first one that allows that). That + is important!!!!!
