Kontakt Full version needed?

Hello.

I bought a kick configurator instrument.

I have to put it in Kontakt to be able to use it.

now Kontakt is somewhere around €300

I only need that kick configurator.

Without all the other instruments that Kontakt offers me.

is there a free Kontakt that is empty where I can only put my own instrument?

I don't need more.

Unfortunately that library needs the full version of Kontakt 6.3.2 or higher if it's this instrument "Hardcore Kick Configurator by Tha Playah", even though it costs €90!

As long as the instrument you bought will work on the free Kontakt player you can down it from here - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/samplers/kontakt-8-player/

Some 3rd party instruments need the full version of Kontakt and they should tell you in the product information pages if they do.

Typically then the 'free' Kontakt libraries require the full version of Kontakt since the free libraries are unlicensed. Kontakt libraries that are licensed only require the Kontakt Player.

You are free to and it is completely without licensing cost to make a Kontakt library of your own and distribute it provided that you have the rights to use and distribute all what you use to make the library. And if not licensed by you then such a library can only be used in the Kontakt Player once that you have made it. If you want the library to be able to be used in the Kontakt Player then you have to license it.

Also then as far as I know then you can not build your own your own instruments or edit other people’s instruments in Kontakt Player.

That's pretty bad for a $90 instrument. I mean , I could imagine that someone would do this and I didn't write in the above that paid library equals can be used on Player (though that's also how it often is). But it's pretty bad/poor to charge people $90 for a library and then it's still not licensed.

Yeah, I mean it's made very clear on the web page but still seems a bit expensive!

It is the kick configurator from lussive audio.

And the €90 is only a update.

From what I can see then you are not referring to the "Hardcore Kick Configurator" but to the Kontakt 8. As a general rule then it is a much better deal to buy the Komplete 15 Standard bundle at the next sale and get all the 'flagship' apps than investing in Kontakt 8 full alone. You can most likely get the Komplete 15 Standard bundle at next sale at the same price as the present price for Kontakt 8.

P.S.

Maybe you will like the Interference from over here ? (though I think that 'Interference' will also require the full version of Kontakt , so you can just download it while you still can and save it for later)
