Are there discussions within the framework of the new partnership program with Akai offering to exchange Maschine+ devices from customers for Akai MPCs? This way, existing Native Instruments customers could also benefit from the new partnership.

as a sucker who owns enough NI I could have bought a really nice car, Akai wins. Not to mention all their old hardware still works

There was no fight… Akai build its system over the "know how" of retronyms at iPad (long long ago) so crafting a dedicated OS over dedicated HW was set over the "right mindset" meanwhile NI wanted to shrink x86 code into Yocto-linux and outdated HW meanwhile users asked for more and more…

It was a matter of time and probably the update (problably the last) if it ever comes will be maintenance mode. The M+ developers stated in "in the making of" how ARM was considered but discarded as first option…

You can see were Vincenzo gone from these days until today at his linekdin.

Now it seems "evident" maybe people start to believe it but the CPU (and so) inside the ma(S)chine didn't changed over all these years…

Can I trade mine in for a gaming PC w/ a GTX 3060 6GB? Cause I could probably have built one for $1300. :P
