jack adapter for S2
Hi again, im trying to plug my speakers into my Kontrol s2, im getting an awful buzz when i turn my speakers on. Speakers are fine in my other audio interface. Im trying to figure out what the problem is. One thing is that i have had to buy adapters for my speaker cable as the inputs are 1/4 inch jacks I think the big ones lol so tech. I bought 1/8 inch adapter and am wondering if this is the problem. On the specs it says 1/8 stereo outputs does that mean I need stereo adapters which I got, or do i need two mono adapters. This might not be the problem i just not sure what it could be.
These are the adapters i bought it says for headphones so im not sure if i got right ones.
I have Presonus Eris 3.5 speakers if thats any help.
Thank you for any help

i was basing my recommendations on the info in the S2 Mk3 manual… on the MK3 there is a single 1/8 (stereo) output and 2 RCA (mono) outs…so if your controller is not an MK3 then my answer would not apply…sorry for the confusion.

You just need a standard stereo RCA cable.

The 3.5mm (1/8 inch) output on the s2 is a stereo jack, you would need a stereo to mono splitter cable if using that output and plug into the Balanced 1/3inch inputs on the back of the speakers (balanced inputs will accept unbalanced plugs)
or you can use the 1/8 inch to RCA (unbalanced) inputs on the back of the speakers using the following cable.

Don't use the headphone output! That's for headphones (cueing for DJing).
You should be using the master output (RCA/phono).

No im not, im putting them in the master outs on the back. Probably not explaining myself properly. What i have realised is the adapters i bought were stereo where the jacks are mono. Learning slowly but surely.
Blindeddie there are two 3.5mm ports on the back for the speakers. I went for 2 of these. You dont seem to be able to buy dual ones.
3.5 mm Mono to RCA Cable
So i hope im right thank you both for your input.
