F1 led output (fundamental settings)

Hi,
So im about to map a F1 controller to accompany my Xone K2. Im pretty much in the beginning and so far I have mapped 2 different reverbs to pads number 1 and 5 and they work great. Next I want to add color leds to highlight their on/off status but how do I do it?
I have succesfully added led colors to my K2 by 'add output' and then choosing the right action and midi note corresponding the color I want, but with F1 the 'add output' dropdown menu is different and they just light up the sync, quant, capture etc buttons.
Does it have to do something with the separate Control Editor app? In there I was able to pick right colors to the pads but they only work if I press SHIFT+BROWSE on my F1 but then my previously assigned reverb effects wont trigger.
I guess there's some fundamental thing im not aware of.

If you use MIDI Mode then make sure the LED setting is set to MIDI IN. You can then use "Indexed" mode to set the color velocity from Traktor.

You lost me straight away haha. Where can I find this LED setting and what is "Indexed" mode?

No worries, I meant to visit the Controller Editor, where you edit F1 buttons and faders and not the Controller Manager (which is part of Traktor Mapping)

Hmm, ok there's something off. So here's the thing:
When I open traktor, my F1 goes on but none of the pads are lit. I open control manager inside traktor and I can add inputs. Now, if I press SHIFT+BROWSE I see my pads are lit which I mapped in control editor but my inputs are not working which I assigned in traktor's control manager. Also, in this state if I try to add new inputs, traktor is not registering my touch on the pads.
In the end I would like to be able to capture loops on my F1 like original remix deck style and also be able to map some effects in it.

Perhaps you did not set your unit into MIDI mode and it is still operating under it's user mode. Hard to tell what is happening without seeing any screenshots.
Worth mention is that the LED feedback cannot be reconfigured inside the default mapping for remix decks.0 -
Unit is set to MIDI mode.
Im not sure I completely understood the second part.
Let's put it this way: am I able to have default remix deck functions (capture loops etc) and my own mapping (effects..) at the same time?

Correct, You can map effects to pads in the default mapping but you cannot get any LED feedback going on the pads unless you use MIDI mode or User mode.
Your best bet is using the MIDI mode nad then recreate the track capture mappings.
Add In → Remix Deck → Dirtect mapping → Deck Capture Modifier.Add In → Remix Deck → Dirtect mapping → Capture source selector.
Otherwise just get a second F1 and dl Tekken mapping and start from there.0 -
To answer my own question, yes. But the leds remain the problem.
Now, what bugs me is, I dont understand the difference between user map vs midi mode and the consequences they have.
