Setting up machine mk3 with ableton 9
Hello,
I am writing this because I've been trying to figure out how to connect this properly for a while now. I followed the instructions to install them, however, I've been trying to figure it out by watching how to set it up through youtube videos. There was a few issues and I think I've finally figured it out, somewhat but I'm still confused.
After I added the scripts in Ableton (I'm using the ableton 9). For some reason I was not able to move the octave up to register sound when I hitting a pad. And it would not change when I tried to use Shift + pad 16.
So I uninstalled and re-installed. And I just want to get some clarification to cuz I'm not sure.
In Ableton under the link midi, after I had re-installed the scripts under the I/O there it shows Machine MK3 EXT MIDI and Machine MK3 Ctrl MIDI. Should I enable Track and Remote on both or just either EXT or Ctrl?
One of the reasons why I'm confused is because every video that I have watched on youtube poeple have machine MK3, they don't use ext or ctrl, however, I am only given those 2 options and there's not Machine MK3 option.
And in Machine itself
The controller shows MK3
I"m also given 2 options MK3 Machine EXT MIDI and MK3 Machine Ctrl MIDI same question, do I check both or just the one, and if I do just the one, what is the difference between EXT and Ctrl?
I'm trying to be able to use it in Ableton but it does not register that I"m hitting a pad in the square in the upper right corner in Ableton like it does when I press a button on my keyboard.
I"m still a total nob to all of this and honestly I'm still a total deer in headlights.
I also tried to route the sounds.
I found a video on youtube that explained how to route each sound(pad) in maschine into ableton. However, after assigning each part of the kit onto it's own destination channel, the only signal that I see in ableton is the master channel.
I have watched this video over and over and over to make sure I replicated the steps exactly as shown and It won't register on the individual track that the pad is assigned to.
So i'm really hoping that someone might be able to help me figure this out cuz my ADHD brain feels like it's starting to short out trying to figure this out:(

However, I am not sure if this might be the reason. I'm Using Ableton 9 as I don't have the money to be able to upgrade it. The script that I used was the one I found in the download section… is there a chance that the script is for a newer version of ableton and that could be the reason why it's not linking as it should?
IF that is the case, is there a way I am able to to get an Maschine mk3 sript for ableton live 9?
Omg actually no… I've been trying to figure this out for so long that I realized that I did download the correct script so I don't know how to figure this out:( And I Have no idea how to delete this.
However, in the Script section of it does show pictures where it say's Machine MK3, which is what I have seen for everyone who uses it on youtube, but in my ableton it say's Maschine MK3 Crtl and Maschine MK3 EXT.

It would only let me up three attachments so here's the last one.

Hey there, it would be helpful to mention your operating system.
Have you followed these steps? How to Install Maschine Templates for Ableton Live
Which template are you trying to install, the legacy one or the latest one? These are 2 different setups:
Template and New template. You need to choose one of those, these are specific remote scripts for Ableton 9 and 10. Please read carefully.
