How to; Stem separation on tracks on hard drive ? TP4

HNY NI fam! Recently downloaded a bunch of tracks to an external hard drive and want to know if there's a way for me to separate stems directly from the hard drive folder in Traktor Pro 4. It allows me to stem separate tracks in my 'track collection' but not from my hard drive. Guessing the obvious fix would be to import all the tracks into the 'track collection' but i have a feeling that would be duplicating and I don't want to store the tracks directly on my laptop. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks ahead of time!

    Tracks in your collection dont' get duplicated. Also I'm somewhat sure as soon as you play them they will be in your collection anyway.
