Why can't I send MIDI volume fader adjustments on z1mk2 when output routing is set to external?
I record my mix externally for each deck. The crossfader works perfectly and sends MIDI out. All other controls, including EQ, also send MIDI, but the line faders remain completely unresponsive. I've configured MIDI Out for “Mixer → Volume Adjust → Deck a/b/c/d.” With “Audio Internal,” everything works perfectly. Thx for the help :)

That's new (since Traktor 3.10 something). GUI Volume Faders are disabled when in audio routing is set to 'external'.
That 'bug fix' (NI called it that) was completely unnecessary..

Since version .. 3.9 or something like that you can't adjust the volume for each deck inside traktor in External mixing mode". It was considered a bug that you could adjust volume in this mode.
It's seems like it breaks some niche use cases.

Thx! Great 😩… Reading the release notes… it does not make sense that the crossfader still works 😅. Anyway I guess the missing midi out signal is a side effect of the removal of a code line without thinking about it 🙈.

The volume does not change, that is why traktor does not send midi back out.
The device itself still sends midi to traktor
