Can I reclaim my old MPRJ files?

Hello all,

Back in 2011 I bought a Maschine Mikro M1 and had loads of fun with it. I've since lost both the original hardware and software, however I have all the project files (.mprj) and samples saved. I would love nothing more than to be able to listen to my old beats again. Is it as simple as importing them into the current Maschine software, or am I totally screwed?

Yes, it is possible.

You need to convert them to the current format (which is .mxprj).

To do so, you need an older version of Maschine 2 (so no, don't go to Maschine 3 yet!)

After you finish this process, then you can update to Maschine 3, if you wish. :-)

Ah, the only problem I have now is that I can't seem to find where I can pay for the Maschine 2 software, as the demo I have downloaded doesn't allow the importing of old MK1 files…

I am not sure, but maybe there is a way to do it. Just need an admin to confirm it.

Get a Maschine 3 license but first download and install Maschine 2, do your work and then update to Maschine 3.

Is this possible @Jeremy_NI? Can a Maschine 3 license also cover Maschine 2?

If not, do not worry. There are other possibilities too.

@truebornracer I would recommend getting Maschine 2 second hand or get Maschine 3, we can then add a Maschine 2 licence to your account for you to be able to import your old projects. Feel free to reach out.
