Voucher not valid

I understand the policy concerning vouchers so I waited after the Christmas sale to try and get some expansions. I've tried twice now and each time there's a message saying the voucher is invalid. what are my other options?

    Is the voucher a three for one or for a specific value ?

    If for a specific value then probably you can only have that one item item in the basket and the rest of the voucher will be forfeit.

    Else then the below is the previously usual list :

    The voucher code cannot be used for updates,upgrades, crossgrades, edu licenses, hardware, NKS partner products,or Komplete bundles and upgrades/crossgrades.

    Else try one of these products provided that it is not already discounted.
