Older iMac compatability

Hi - just looking at getting back into Djing with a Traktor S4 Mk3 with a couple of turntables. I've got a iMac which I havent used in a while but hopefully it may be suitable to connect with the S4 to solely use for home dj setup. iMac is following spec - realise I may have to update/improve RAM etc.

2.8ghz quad core intel core i5 with 4mb L3 cache and turbo boost to 3.3 ghz

8gb onboard memory

Intel iris pro graphics 6200, 1920 x 1080 pixels

It was installed with OSX so must be from about 2014/15.

Any idea whether this is too old?

    Its now unsupported by Apple and was OS Sierra, iMac 16,1 in late 2015 so just under 10 years old

    That should support Traktor 3.4.2

    Do you already own a s4 mk3? Because if you now buy it new it will come with Traktor 4, which no longer supports that old of a version.

    Perfect thank you - appreciate the direction - that settles that as havent purchased yet and wanted Traktor 4 capability. On the hunt for a value laptop now then!

    You can try to install a newer macOS with Open Core Legacy Patcher. Maybe this is a good solution for you.

    Ah spot on - not too bothered about non-OS support as will only be using the iMac for Traktor Pro 4 . Will give that a go first. Tried TP4, Rekordbox and Serato last night and they all require newer OS version. I'm on el-capitan.
