Hi,

I originally purchased a Traktor Kontrol S3 hardware controller which came with Traktor Pro3 software. I have now purchased a Traktor Kontrol S4 which has also come with the Traktor Pro3 software.

When connecting my Traktor Kontrol S4, it works straight away with the Pro3 software and I haven't had to change anything. However the Traktor S4 has a different code. I now want to sell my Traktor S3, but need to know how that impacts regarding the Pro3 software and the hardware codes. Can I update the code to my new Traktor S4?

To summarise - you sell the hardware, you keep the software licence and the buyer receives a new licence for the same software so you don't lose anything.

Can I unregister the Traktor S3 now, even though I haven't sold it yet keeping the License Transfer ID safe for when I do sell it and and then relicense my Traktor S4 with the new license?

You shouldn't need to relicense your S4, the software will just work with it as it remains in your account.

When you create a transfer ID it doesn't do anything until the buyer enters it into their account so creating one in advance doesn't actually do anything.

OK, sorry, one last question.

So when I sell the S3 and unregister the license, I send the buyer the License transfer ID, which will then allow me to register my S4 with the new license that came with it?

Having an S3 shouldn't stop you registering the S4. Do you get an error when you try to register it? Also, depending when you bought the S4 you might get a licence for Traktor Pro 4 rather than TP3.

I haven't actually tried to license the S4. When I bought it Pro 4 wasn't released.
