why doesn't my Maschine 3.0 software SEE my Maschine + ??

Newbie here. When I pull down the Controller menu in the software, all of the controllers are grayed out, including Maschine + which is powered on and connected to the computer. SHoudn't Maschine+ show as active?

    Sounds like you've got it in standalone mode. Remove the power supply, you don't need it. Just connect the USB cable, then open the Maschine software.
