There are a couple of cases where black keys won’t be doing anything:

    • Kontrol keyboards can be set to different modes: Guide, Mapped and Easy. Easy mode does exactly what you are experiencing: it maps all the notes from the selected scale to the white keys and makes the black ones inactive
    • Some instruments have peculiar mappings that use only some keys. If the problem you are seeing is only on some instruments while others work correctly, check if those instruments have this “special” mapping

The relevant section in the user manual is Chapter 8: Scale: https://www.native-instruments.com/ni-tech-manuals/kontrol-s-mk3-manual/en/scale

How should we know? You provide zero (0) information.

Start with operation system, installed keyboard drivers, software version.

Then, where this is happening? everywhere? or just on some application, and if so, on which application?

Does the white keys working? Then the blacks should work! It's one compact system.

Some screen shots will be useful too (if the error appears in one specific application, which instrument did you load? screen shot this)

You mean the black keys on your Kontrol S61? They should work, there must be something on your system that is causing the problem unless you have a faulty model (although tbh that seems unlikely given all black keys are affected as faulty keys usually relate to just one or two adjacent keys, they can't tell if a key is black or white). You need to provide more details, system specs, DAW etc

It sounds almost like the kbd is set to a scale of C? Can't remember offhand what the setting is called in the play assistant functionality, but make sure there's nothing set in there

More specifically, if the issue is the Modes, the Key Mode Parameter paragraph:
