Has anyone copied Kontakt .db3 to K.K. ?
So has anyone copied there kontakt .db3 to komplete kontrol latest version if so what are your findings or should it not be done?

What you wrote makes no sense.
Kontakt.db3 has nothing to do with Komplete Kontrol (which has its own .db3).
If you copy it to the KK folder, nothing at all will be happen (apart of loosing disc space, for no reason).Unless if you mean something different and i didn't understood correctly. :-)

Just out of curiosity i opened them and compared them.
They both are of the same format (SQLite 3) and weirdly, they do have the same name too!
Indeed, there is no kontakt.db3!
Both files named as komplete.db3.
Maschine too, has the same database name. So, there should be some kind of interactivity. But this is not just a simple copying of that file, from one directory to another. This is a 100% guarantee mess-up.
However it is most likely that, an expert with a good knowledge of SQL language (and the appropriated software) could take some code parts from the one database and use it to the other.
But even so, there is nothing practical on this, unless for some "quick-repair" cases, mostly if something is missing or damaged (instead of doing a full re-scan).
That said, this has some logic only in you use the Kontakt database to the Komplete Kontrol database. and not vice-versa! You really, really do not want few dozen of VST Plugins info in your Kontakt! 😊

Okay thank you yes your right time consuming but the direction I'm looking for thank-you!! Saved it!!

Too much effort for everything but worth it for some things like those early SonicCouture libraries that are still some of the cleverest Kontakt libraries ever in my view

That what I was going to say.
This file - is specific to Kontakt and only Kontakt.

It was just a question merry Christmas.. it does make sense because they all carrie the same file extension.. btw i did try it out and i was able to grt my 3rd party libraries to install but the software is slow. My presets tripled from what i had before. So im not sure abour answers.. it was just a question.

All it is - is a question. The extension has nothing to do with this.
This file (kontakt.db3) cannot be used or parsed or read or anything by Komplete Kontrol.
Whatever you are trying to do for Komplete Kontrol (which I still do not know) - is 100% unrelated to Kontakt.db3.

Thank you for trying out.. I copied kontakt 8 database to komplete for now I save my komplete database in case I run into problems but I gained all of my 3rd party libraries that I was missing.. as long as you don't copy the plugin database it will work..

I appreciate a reply but please spend some time and think before saying someone is wrong.

This wasn’t about right or wrong - it was me trying to figure out your question and why the concern about this file.
This DB file is transactional - you can delete it any time you want and Komplete Kontrol will simply rebuild it for you the next restart.
Not really something to worry about.

So it's not transactional.. I asked a simple question which should just be yes or no.. followed by why.. not they are different, when u haven't looked to see if it's possible.I have see your post over time and you come off negative and a know it all... the problem is i was having trouble rebuilding the database for my 3rd party libraries that show up in kontakt but not im komplete.. it's resolved now but i didn't want to giving to much info from the start to see if someone have taken a peek.my komplete.db3 database wasn't completely rebuilding and overtime i delete and scan again my presets weren't all there..

Would been much easier if you just described your issue from the start.
And I still do not understand what this file has to do with Kontakt.
Glad you got it sorted.

There is a way to add third party libraries to Komplete Kontrol that is more effort but also more worthwhile to me because simply importing them as you have done does not in itself give them a NKS mapping which enables control using the keyboard, and for me hands-on control is always my priority over simply having more presets. Here is an example with one of my oldest Kontakt libraries to show it is feasible even with those (I think this one goes back to Kontakt 2 or 3?)

Yes i have alot of nks mappings that I found on your post along with others over the years and of course a bunch i purchased from freelance soundlabs.. who is a frequent around here as you know.. do you mean add 3rd party nks?
Thank you for the information

What I mean is when you import a third party library into the Kontakt browser, as you know, it still doesn’t show in the Komplete Kontrol browser. That is because these libraries are not created to be NKS compatible. This also means they are not setup so the Kontrol keyboard can control their params (in most cases they won’t even have automation setup).
However I found once you have imported a third party library into Kontakt, it is possible to take advantage of the fact that it is now registered as a library into Kontakt to make it work more like an official NKS/Komplete Kontrol library with just a few additional steps. First adding automation and resaving the Kontakt patches, then mapping them in Komplete Kontrol and saving NKS patches. And because the library is registered as a Kontakt library it then shows under that as distinct product in the KK browser (and you can add a thumbnail that shows in both browsers). Here’s a walkthrough of the main steps
