Hi

I am just wondering if I just bought a new Machine + if I have access to Maschine 3 as in my Native Access I only have the option to download and install Maschine 2.

Thank you

    Don't buy a Maschine +. You´ll waste money.

Maschine + right now is totally abandoned. The OS is unfinished, full of bugs and in Stand-alone mode it is not compatible with Maschine 3.0 software (and keep in mind that Maschine2 software is no longer supported). So, If you buy a Maschine + you'll be only allowed to use it as a controller with Maschine 3.0 soft.
Better buy a Maschine mk3 and you`ll get the same for very less money (a used one will save more money). And better, explore another options because Native Instruments right now it is not the same company as it was 5 years ago (the one that really made a great work on Maschine 2 software). The NI of today it's a ship without direction and make promisses they don´t keep.

After some years the Maschine + user's, we're still waiting for a firmware that does not exist and probably it will never become real.

The concept of the Plus is that you use it standalone, and that's exactly how I use it.

IMO it's not a waste of money, and it's not been abandoned. I bought mine in June 2021 and have used it regularly ever since. It works just as well now as it did when I first got it.

No, at present it's not compatible with Maschine 3 software, but for standalone use that's not essential.

Well … I'm a Maschine + user too. And there are many bugs there. Some freeze moments. Problems importing projects. Expantions that don´t work nice because Maschine + runs lack of CPU power and many things that need a deep review in the OS (as example, the file manager that is garbage).

I can`t use Maschine + as stand-alone device because I can´t make music with it without find problems with files, issues, bugs and so. So … I use it as a controller with software. For stand-alone purpose, I use an Akai MPC Live mk2 … it's more solid, well finished and let me do music without any issues.

@walerandei I think the topicstarter already bought Maschine+. The question is not a buying advice but how to get 3.0. Oh, and for me, I start all my projects just sketching out idea's on the couch on my Maschine+, I love it. Later I go to the basementstudio and extend the musical sketch in Maschine software in controller mode. And sometimes when I want to add audio tracks I run Cubase along to get some audio tracks down (the biggest missing piece in Maschine is a simple Audio Tracks workflow). Maschine+ works great for me.

@MiguelBranco I'm afraid you've to ask Native Instruments Support. Maschine 3.0 running on the Plus is not out yet. And whether you're desktop license is for 2.0 or 3.0 I don't know, I think it has something to do with the acquisition date.

Yes, if you just bought the Maschine Plus brand new, then it should include Maschine 3.

As you should be able to see from the multiple posts about this on the forum, there have been some issues - but NI are working through them. You'll need to contact support with your details.

You can use Maschine 2 in the meantime, as the Plus is not yet compatible with version 3 software.

You’ll have to wait until NI update the Maschine 3 software so that it runs on a Mashine +.

That is apparently ‘in the pipeline’. It makes no sense for NI not to update the Mashine + to the only iteration of the maschine software that they still support. And as it makes sense for all Mashine + to operate with the same software, it’s likely to be a free update to encourage all Mashine + users to update.

From a non-Maschine + user’s point of view, that iteration of the maschine software should also add in a lot of the hardware functionality that many users feel was missing in the 3.0 update.
