How is this still a thing?!?
Really?! Really NI?! almost 2025.. TRAKTOR 4.1.1… and STILL "can't load on locked deck" is STILL a bug?!?! happened to me live last night.. as usual, no way to fix it but with an app restart, or bring brave and unchecking the "loading only into stopped deck" option.
THIS BUG EXISTS FOR DECADES!!! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!

It's also one of the hardest type of bugs to fix, because it only affects a small subset of users. I've never been able to replicate it myself

Honestly, as annoying as it is, I've never loaded a song into a playing deck after I have disabled protection due to this bug. You just take more care. It's not rocket science.

Can't be worse than having to restart Traktor, even when loading to a playing deck by accident.

I do quick change mashups with up to 4 decks, and I do it live. Trust me: this bug is serious AND infuriating that its a real thing for so long. Now if you just slow fade between 2 decks all night, you're safe. clearly not a problem for you

Thats true, but thats not the problem here. Show me a commercial software with a 15+years codebase WHERE THE SAME GRAVE BUG IS STILL NOT FIXED… thats the problem here.
They have the audacity to launch a new Traktor version where I payed 75 bucks to upgrade, and STILL the same DECADE OLD bug…

15 YEARS and still no fix? its a SERIOUS BUG! its not a screen flicker! i get its hard to fix… but 15 YEARS HARD? how do they have the audacity to CHARGE me 75 bucks for an upgrade, and still haven't fixed such a grave bug?!

They could create a build with more logging or memory dump. Or ask if affected people have something in common.
But what are they doing? We don't know because Traktor team has a no communication mentality. Big ups for the Native Access dev.
It's just frustrating as a user. Not only this bug.

Your previous comment suggested I did not mix or indeed do anything interesting or useful with Traktor other than "just slow fade between 2 decks all night". Rather than me argue with you or create tension between us, my very typically British comment means "to discover something about them that disappoints you and might make you start to dislike them". It is usually said in a light-hearted manner and the speaker rarely means what he/she says.
If I just wanted to fade between tracks every time, I'd be more likely to chat in the Virtual DJ forum 🤣
