Maschine+ Expansion Downloads Constantly Failing

Hi I have a new Maschine+. Expansion downloads keep failing. SD card is a new Sandisk Ultra. My internet connection is fast and stable. Surely this isn't a normal thing and it shouldn't be this hard to accomplish something so simple? The SD card has also been corrupted by Maschine+ once and I had to reformat & start all over again. This seems completely unacceptable to me given it's a flagship product. My first week with it as far as user experience goes is very low and I'm quickly losing consumer confidence in the product. Should I be returning this unit? If not, what should I be trying?

Sorry to hear about your problems. It’s definitely not normally that difficult.

    Couple of questions:

    • What are the versions of your M+ OS/Maschine software and Firmware (you find those three version numbers under Settings)?
    • Is the SD card full sized or a micro with adapter?
    • Do you experience the same difficulty when using the stock SD card?

    Thanks for your time, ozon!
    Details are as follows…

    System: 1.5.1.0

    Maschine Version: 2.17.5(R0)

    Firmware: 0.1.6

    SD: Micro with Adaptor

    Type: Sandisk Extreme 256Gb

I didn’t use the stock card that came with my Maschine+ as 64Gb isn’t big enough for my sample libraries + the NI Expansions.

Also, when the downloads hang or fail, the Maschine+ also hangs during shutdown/reboot.

Firmware 0.1.6 should be updated to 0.1.9.

Download for the Firmware Updater is available here under Maschine Plus:

    https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/

SD micro with adapter are known to cause problems. I had very odd issues using a SanDisk Extreme 256GB microSDXC with adapter until I replaced it with an SanDisk Extreme PRO 256GB SDXC full sized card. From then on, there I had zero issues regarding SD card access during browsing, loading or saving of files.

thanks mate. I’ll check out the firmware updater later today. Can I simply transfer my expansions across or would I have to download everything from scratch again?

You cannot transfer anything that is licensed or installed by Native Access, as these packages contain files which are written to the internal flash memory inaccessible to users.

Since the downloads were failing, I wouldn’t trust the installed files anyway.

Ok..best to do it now I guess. What type of SD are you using yourself, if you don't mind me asking?

Still using the SanDisk Extreme PRO 256GB SDXC (full size) as written above.
