Can't get sound from instruments after reinstall

Hey!

I just reinstalled my whole NI catalog to my new HDD. I switched all the installation paths to that new one.

Now I can't get sound from intsruments even though I see them in Kontakt library. Some of the intsruments work, but I'd installed them like two days before installing the rest of instruments.

I have a similar problem. I deleted Kontakt5 thinking I never use it now that I have the 7 and 8 versions and since then I am unable to get any sound from Kontakt. When using it in Ableton it appears to load the instruments but does not produce any sound, whereas in standalone it shows all of the instruments in the library but does not load any of them.

I have since deleted and reloaded all versions of Kontakt and some of the instruments, but nothing has changed. Hoping for suggestions to solve this issue

What do you mean by that? Do you mean you can't load the libraries or that you can load them but when you play notes with your keyboard you don't get sound?

What's your operating system? What version of Kontakt? Is it in a DAW, in standalone, both?

That definetely looks like a different issue. If you were using Kontakt 5 in projects you need to have Kontakt 5 installed on your system. There is no automigration for Kontakt in Ableton, it's only possible with Cubase, ProTools, Logic and Maschine (this is up to the DAWs, not NI): Notes about Auto-Migration of Kontakt Versions in DAW Projects

And also, please be more specific,

since then I am unable to get any sound from Kontakt.

Do you mean that you can't load the library or that when you play notes there is no sound coming out. What's your operating system?

    Hi Jeremy,

I was not uising Kontak5 in any of my projects. In Ableton, Kontakt shows and loads the instruments, even the keys on the visual keyboard move as the midi notes are being played, but no sound is produced, Other NI plugins work perfectly.

In stand alone, Kontakt shows the instruments in the library but does not load any of them.

In both versions the notes are sounded when clicking on the instrument variations in the library browser !

I have deleted all Kontakt versions following the on-line instructions and re-installed them, but nothing has changed.

@keweave When you say there is no sound when in Ableton, if you play the blue keys on the onscreen keyboard do you also not get sound?

If you click on the NI logo in Kontakt in Ableton, is it the same version as the standalone version?

For the versions affected please carry out the same steps as here: Kontakt Crashes

    Hey!

Sorry for not answering in a while.

So I use win 11 and FL studio.

It loads the sounds and all the intstruments to kontakt and komplete controll, but previews and plays only a few isntruments when trying to load them.

Now when I chekd the VST 32 and VST 64 folders, they are empty. Even I set those locations in Native Access.

I am still not sure what you mean.

Let's keep the word "sound" for sound, can you hear notes when you play notes once you loaded a Kontakt preset?

For libraries or presets let's use another word ok? What are the libraries that load and which ones do not?

Again, for troubleshooting, can you check how everything is working in Kontakt in standalone (outside of FL Studio)? Do you have the same problem?

Kontakt 7 and 8 are VST3 only, there are no more dlls for VST32 and VST64. The default folder for VST3 is the following: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Please carry out these steps anyway to see if that resolves the issue: Kontakt Crashes
