Hi All,

*** Moderators, PLEASE leave this open for a bit! The normal fixes don’t work for me and I want to see if someone has solved this a different way. Thanks!***

I have the dreaded Kontakt 5 running in Demo mode on an M1 Mac, but the usual fixes don’t work.

I’ve tried everything here:
https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/29289/kontakt-and-libraries-still-in-demo-mode

and here:
https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/10492337780253-GUITAR-RIG-5-KONTAKT-and-SUPER-8-R2-Open-as-Demo-Versions-on-Apple-Silicon-M-Systems

I have :

  • trashed Kontakt 5 prefs
  • restarted computer
  • installed Native Access 3.2.3 (using “replace”) and refreshed
  • installed Kontakt 5
  • opened Kontakt 5 standalone
  • made sure that NTKDaemon and Native Access have both been given Full Disk Access
  • checked installation paths
  • tried different versions of Logic (all running in Rosetta)

Is anyone else in the same position? Is there anyone out there for whom the fixes DIDN’T work? Did you eventually find a solution?

What am I doing wrong???

Thanks!
KMA

2021 16-inch MacBook Pro (M1 Max)
Ventura 13.7
Logic 11.0.1 in Rosetta mode (I have tried older versions too)

Thanks to @WIngramMusic on this thread, my problem is now solved!!!

The only thing that worked was the deletion of the Native Instruments folder (Macintosh HD > Users > Shared > Native Instruments).

    Here’s what I did:
    - trashed Kontakt 5 prefs
    - trashed the Native Instruments folder (Macintosh HD > Users > Shared > Native Instruments)
    - re-installed Native Access 3.2.3 (using “replace”)
    - restarted
    - opened Native Access and installed Kontakt 5
    - hit “refresh” in Native Access

    Woohoo!

    Hi Jeremy.

I've been in touch with support already. The NI Support team referred me to the standard set of instructions in my original post.

The solution came instead from a user on this forum.

    Thanks.

Yes the standard fix didn't work for me. Seems to be a pretty complicated process to be able to get Kontakt 5 to work on my older projects. I have the more recents versions as well but I need to be able to play my older projects that use Kontakt 5. I'll try it and see what happens. I was running fine on my M1. Just updated to an M4 and that's when the inability to activate Kontakt 5 started.
