Step Mode shifts to "Master Group Sound"
Hello, …
i'm new to Maschine and just learned about the Step Sequencer.
- I loaded a group (Tried several)
- I placed a Kick (everything worked fine) … then a HiHat (still working)
- BUT (!) … when i tried to place another sound from the group …
… 'the display shifts to "Master Group Sound" and underneath is showing the Sampler icon.'
I saw a post from 2022 ("Step mode not working on Maschine MK3.") and the OP experienced the exact same problem, so i quoted him. … His solution was putting less pressure on the pads. Sadly this doesn't work for me. … Neither does restarting Maschine Soft- & Hardware. Now i can't even place a single sound. Maschine keeps shifting.
Did i miss something? 🙂

My guess would be that you are holding the Pad instead of just taping it.
Hold = Step Modulation.

Hey D-One, thank you for replying. … And you are right! I have just tried it out. That's it. Thank you! 🙂
And for everyone else with the same problem. Meanwhile i got it to work … but still wondered how and why? After i posted the question i kept on trying for quite some time. On and on. I pushed, dragged, held the pads, you name it. The Problem still occurred until it didn't. Like a Ghost in the Maschine.
I guess my Maschine was just to fresh out of the box. … Now i can use the step sequencer as explained here and there AND i can recreate what D-One mentioned as well.
So. I guess that's the answer. … Keep on trying and break the pads in. 😃
