Session guitarist Sunburst broken GUI and running in DEMO mode

Hi,

All of a sudden I'm getting a broken GUI when I load Session Sunburst guitar into Kontakt 6.

I tried opening NI access 2 and also rescanned via the Libraries menu and and it still won't show up.

I'm also getting a missing samples error.

As far as I can tell, the libraries are in the correct folders.

I also have Prime Bass and it's working fine.

Thinking about reinstalling Session guitarist from NI Access 2, but afraid I may lose my guitar settings. Does anyone know if they will be preserved?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See screenshots.

*Note- I'm using Kontakt 6 instead of 7 because when I updated to 7, it changed some of my Sunburst guitar sounds so I installed the previous library for Sunburst and it has been working fine for the past year with no issues

Thank you

Thanks for the reply. and info.

No, I don't have Clean my Mac or anything else like it.

But the last thing I did before this happened was use the "delete unused project files" for a song in Logic 11.01
Not sure if it was just a coincidence, but it's worth a mention.

I was however able to successfully reinstall the Session sunburst library, and all the sounds and presets are back, BUT when I restart my Mac and load the songs again, the Sunburst library is not found and I get the same broken GUI etc.

I am alas not knowledgeable enough about Mac to know the answer to that one.

I was however able to successfully reinstall the Session sunburst library, and all the sounds and presets are back,

That's great and progress at least.

BUT when I restart my Mac and load the songs again, the Sunburst library is not found and I get the same broken GUI etc.

I can only help with checking basic stuff else we will have to call for a Mac expert.

Have you tried reset Logic to default by deleting this file (please backup stuff if something can get lost doing this) : MacintoshHD/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist

Also make sure that the Mac must do has been done :

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

    Hi,

I never got K6 to work, but instead just started using Kontakt 7. My guitar sounds did change and I had to rework some guitar parts, but in the end I like the that I'm now able to move away from K6 and use K7.

    Thanks for your help!

Judging by your screencaps and the references to K6 suddenly not working and now K7 working - I suspect you may have updated the Session Guitarist Sunburst library (in Native Access) to the version that will only load in K7.6.x (released last fall).

Attempts to use the most recent library will fail in K6. Glad you have it sorted.

I dont see how deleting unused project files in Logic would upset the Session guitarist library. When I inadvertantly updated picked acoustic late last year I was in for a world of pain getting it sorted. A very very long story. When that happened I got a definite dialog box saying my Kontakt version was too old to play the library. I dont see that in your scenario either.

Maybe you are aware or not, but sometimes when Logic and a project goes wonky, a good option is to import all your files, settings etc into a brand new empty project. The settings are very comprehensive as to what you can choose to import or not. There may be a bit of cleaning up to do, but its better than seeing a whole project go belly up.

Hey @Dave Hender I suspect that you updated the library and it broke compatibility with Kontakt 6, these symptoms would indicate that.

You'll find installers for the previous version of the libary here: Previous versions of recently updated Kontakt libraries / compatibility with K6 older libraries
