Kontakt 2 Win updater needed

Hello I’m trying to bring back to life some old projects and need to get hold of an update for Kontakt 2 Windows version, could anyone help out? Much appreciated

You are talking about a 23 year old software… i don't think that even on Native Instruments has it anymore (perhaps on a NI museum?)…

The oldest available legacy installer is Kontakt 5, here:

I can't say for sure, but give it a try, it might be able to read such old projects

I just downloaded the KONTAKT 2.2.4 Win Update from here (login required) and tried to install it. It appeared as if it would install - I didn't complete installation though. This discussion here : How to reopen VERY old Kontakt session? leaves doubt if it is ever going to work , but if what you want to do needs a full version then you would both need a license for Kontakt 2 and for N.I. Native Access and Installation Support to play along and help you perform an offline activation.

As for auto migration then the discussion referred to claims that that is only available from Kontakt 3 for the few DAWs that actually supports auto migration that is.

I can't get PoorFellow's link to work but I do have a copy of Kontakt2_224U_Win.zip. It works on W10 but unfortunately it gives you 3 alternatives: activate, buy, (you can't), or demo (saving disabled).

I was able to load from the disc and update to 2.1.1. which will work for 30 days without activation. No updates after this will work without activation, which I doubt that Native Access will do, though you could try. So you're probably out of luck if your instruments were created later than 2.1.1!

Maybe you only tried the KONTAKT 2.2.4 Win Update link and not the here link or maybe you ignored the 'login required' part ? Else maybe it were a browser or browser setting issue. Anyhow then I just changed the link for all instances of the KONTAKT 2.2.4 Win Update to be the same as it was for the here link. Prior it were a copy of the direct download link and now they are both only linking to the page so that people have to pick the download themselves. Anyway then the above sounds as if you already had the file so ought not matter for you 🙂

No I got a 404 error report for some reason which now seems to have been resolved.

(I can supply earlier update files if the OP wants to try them)

Thanks everyone for the info, I tried updating after installing from the original disk but it refuses to open, just an invalid authorisation message. Worth a shot anyway 😐️
