How to save a Lores User Preset or Snapshot?

Working in Maschine (2.x) I spent a ton of time customizing a Lores preset to create my own. Then I looked for at least 15 minutes for a way to save it. The manual claims "The stunning collection of main presets can be filtered, favorited, edited and saved as your own user preset" - note the "saves as your own user preset" part.

I have a snapshot icon, but clicking it does nothing. I have enabled the user snapshot directory in preferences.

Is this a limitation of Maschine? Are you able to save Lores presets if using a standalone Kontakt instance or in another DAW?

You can right click here and choose Save as:

    You can name the preset:

and recall it from the user library:

I used another Kontakt library but the principle is the same for any instrument.

It's the little disk icon you need to click on to save a snapshot, not the camera - that just opens snapshots (or do it via Maschine's save as, as Jeremy says)

Ah! So not within the plugin window at all. That makes sense. Well, it doesn't make sense (I'm new to Maschine, but a long-time NI/Kontakt user), but now I know how to do it. Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for answering my question. And, your screenshot is EXACTLY what I was expecting / looking for, but I don't have that view:

I remember in Komplete Kontrol in other DAWs you have to enable an Edit view or something in order to see the Kontakt "wrapper". I clicked around the entire Maschine UI for like 15 minutes but couldn't find it.

UPDATE: Found it! It's only available once you DETACH the plugin window by clicking that little diagonal arrow in the top-left corner. That detaches the plugin window into its own non-modal window you can drag around. For some reason, that also then enables a little "pencil" icon in the top-left corner of the newly-detached plugin window. Clicking that pencil icon reveals the Kontakt Edit mode.

So now it looks like there are 2 functioning workflows, depending on your use case.

@Jeremy_NI 's approach seems to be good if you only care about staying within the Maschine ecosystem - it is a more convenient way to mange your present

@Kymeia 's solution allows you to save the Kontakt snapshot, which then should be available wherever you use Kontakt - standalone or in another DAW like Logic or Ableton.

    sound about right?

    Thanks!

Actually no they both do the same thing, either way it saves as a snapshot, and you can also do that if you save in Komplete Kontrol using the KK file menu
