Ozone 11 - Setting Specific LUFS Value in Maximizer Plugin

I'm very new to Ozone, so please bear with the clunky jargon.

I compose for a library that has a very specific requirement for LUFS values on output of the mastered projects. Usually this is -10 LUFS.

Can someone walk me through, in simple terms, how to use the Mastering Assistant and/or Maximizer plugin to set that value as an output for the mastered track, please?

Thanks for any help.

I asked one of my Izotope colleagues, this is what he nicely put together:

To set your LUFS level in Ozone 11 I would recommend first running the master assistant to get a starting point for your master. Master assisting in Ozone 11 won't let you set a specific LUFS when running it so you would want to do this in the Maximizer. The Quickest and easiest way to set the LUFS is to go to the learn input gain setting in the Maximizer and set that to -10 LUFS. Then click on the learn input gain button. Once pressed play the loudest part of your track and this will automatically sed the level of the maximixer to -10 LUFS. this should get you in the ballpark of -10. LUFS you may still need to make slight adjustments after doing these steps to the threshold in the maximizer as well depending on your source material.

Additionally for more on loudness in general and how to visualize loudness in your mastering process we also have this blog article that explores this further as well that may also be a helpful resource:  https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/are-you-listening-metering-in-mastering.html?srsltid=AfmBOooWXcqeRSiq8ZlmhScXmiyYdYwW-Keqhhaiy1LPjXRY84Asycm9

Hey Stephen, you can just use the gain knob manually in the maximizer to dial it in further if needed, usually it is pretty accurate.

    Hello Jeremy

Many thanks to you and your colleague for the helpful answer. I'll give it a try.

However, I'm not certain about how to make the 'slight adjustments' after using the Learn Input Gain, and I presume this is related to adjusting the output gain? Any clarification on this would be welcome.

    Kind regards,

    Stephen
