Upgrading to maschine3
Hello everyone
NI was nice/amazing enough to give my account access to maschine 2.8 and the maschine 2 library for my mk1, even though I was willing to pay for maschine 3 for it they did it for free anyways.
So now I am wondering. Considering I have Maschine 2.8 and mk1.
What is the difference between these?
I notice that from what I could find…. all of the sounds in my maschine 1 library are included in the maschine 2.8 library…. so I deleted the maschine 1 library.
As for these. I know I can use Maschine 3 standalone without the mk3 if I wanted, or I could keep using Maschine 2.8 and my MK1 connected to it. (I honestly use the DAW more in general anyways…. for me the MK1 is for when I want to chop a sample and group it with polyphony 1 and then make melodies out of that.)
If i installed maschine 3 would I be able to use it without the mk3?
Aside from that, the only reason I would upgrade is for more sounds. So which should I do? Mashine 3 software, maschine 3 full version or maschine central??
Thanks for the feedback/insight.

1.) Maschine 3 Software Update is a plain update from Maschine 2 to Maschine 3. It adds no new sounds as I understand it. But you can use all old sounds with it. You can only buy this if you already have a licence for Maschine 2.
2.) Maschine Central is an Expansion with sounds, instruments and synth presets. Should also work with older versions of Maschine Software.
3.) Maschine 3 is just a bundle of both. You can buy this without owning a previous version of Maschine Software and you can use it standalone without connected Maschine hardware.
Even Maschine 2 works for me without my Maschine Mk3 connected. You just couldn't buy Maschine 2 software without a Maschine controller officially.
If you just want the sounds Maschine Central is your product. If you consider using Maschine 3 Software anytime in the future you should buy "Maschine 3" as update. You save some bucks compared to buying both parts separately.
Just to be sure: You are aware that your Maschine Mk1 won't work with Maschine 3 Software. But you can have 2 and 3 installed side by side.
Why are you still using Maschine 2.8 and not the latest version of Maschine 2?

THank you
I Am using Maschine 2.18.4 Which Is the latest version Native Access gave me. (I said the wrong version above)
And yes I am fine with having maschine 2 connected to my mk1 and maschine 3 standalone.
I'm not even sure if I will use maschine 3.
But it sounds like Maschine Central is my best bet, if the sounds, instruments and synth presets can be loaded into maschine 2.
Maybe I will buy a mk3 one day. But to be fair…. I haven't even got the money worth out of the mk1 I bought…. I only recently decided to get back into using it to make little beats for rhymes I write.0 -
Even if you decide to get the software update later you don't pay too much more. With Euro prices I'll have to pay it makes a difference of 10€ between buying the bundle and separately.
