Traktor Z1 MK2

I just bought it but the pre-listening, i.e. the headphones, doesn't work. Should it be easy plug like all Traktor controllers or does something have to be set?

Thanks

There are reports from other community users that plug & play setup doesn't work with Z1 Mk2 yet. I expect that is a bug and will be fixed in future releases of Traktor Pro 4. You can adjust audio routing manually in Settings → Output routing. Set Output monitor there.

I assume this is with windows? I think it's something to do with the initial configuration of the drivers when the Z1 is first plugged in.

I had a good fiddle about and eventually it seemed to be OK, so if this works please let me know. Firstly make sure windows is up-to-date.

Plug the Z1 into the usb without Traktor running and delete the Z1 Mk2 drivers in Device manager - there should be two of them. Then unplug the USB again.

Then open traktor, go to the audio set up and make sure the Z1Mk2 isn't listed on there. Close preferences again. Then insert the USB. Hopefully a dialog box should pop up that says switch to Z1 Mk2. Select yes, and it should autoconfigure everything correctly. If it doesn't, try the process again, rebooting, deleting drivers etc

If all that fails then just install the ASIO drivers from the support page. It'll give a driver error in Device manager, but that's an error with the WASAPI drivers so it should still work ok on ASIO. You would still need to configure the outputs monitor in the preferences, but it should be OK after that.
