User sound (from auto sampler) prehear

Before Maschine 3 arrives and the forum is clogged with questions about it, can I ask you for info on something else?

When in the Maschine + browser in stand-alone mode, I try to load user sounds (for example from the autosampler), I don't hear the sound preview. Is it normal that prehear doesn't work for user sounds? I can't find anything in the manual.
What am I missing?

Prehear function needs pre-rendered audio snippets in order to function. All NI Expansions come with such audio preview clips included. AFAIK You can also make these prehear clips yourself somehow, but am not privy to the specifics myself as I never use the prehear function

Maybe I found something in a discussion about massive presets, but it should be similar... I'll try!

    Here the discussion

It's not technically hard but it's rather tedious.

You have to export the audio, convert it to ogg, place it in a sub-folder called .previews , and make sure the file name is exactly the same as the preset but with the .ogg extension at the end. (of course, all this has to be done in a computer then you move it to the SD card)

    It works fine on Maschine+

NOTE: On MacOS folders that start with a . (dot) are hidden by default. Press CMD+SHIFT+. to toggle show hidden files on/off.

Thanks, it would be interesting to know the way to create such a clip. It would be very useful.

Why don't you use it? How do you remember when you choose your sounds?

    Sorry, I don't understand your question…?

I personally find the prehear function super distracting. Prehear volume is always too loud, and ruins live jamming easily, I dont want the Maschine to be "farting" redundantly when I am using it. Loading of presets is fast enough, so that I can load a preset and hear how it sounds in context, I dont need to hear it beforehand.. that make sense?
