S Series Mk3 - Firmware Update 1.8.7?
Just had a hardware connection service update via Native Access and now the keyboard is telling me there's a firmware update (1.8.7)
Anyone know what this is for?

Must be the drivers for maschine 3.0 software to have basic control..

Yup - that's what it is.
Also, a fix for Play Assist Chord Auto-Positioning for multiple keyzones across multiple channels.

I just updated "hardware connection services" and then did a 1.8.7. S88, MacBookPro silicon. 1.8.7 gave me a hard time, not sure what fixed it, I finally disconnect my hubs and only had the S88 on one USB-C port. It finally took, but I was concerned it was bricked, if that's even possible . . . First 6-7 times the S88 display still had the message to do a firmware update, no screen change. The last time with the one connection (maybe) it still sat dead and then lit up, but it did not give me the light show it usually has during an update. Maybe this will help others . . or not. -Happy composing all

HI @Matthew_NI. Could you please explain what this fix is?

If a user had multiple keyzones that span multiple channels and was using the "auto-position" chord mode, unexpected things were happening.
For instance, if they had played one chord on one channel, and play another chord on another channel, the second chord would use the chord from the first channel as the reference chord for it’s auto-positioning.
In other words, it would interfere with the MIDI on another channel/keyzone, which is not correct.
