help traktor configuration ??
I need help!!!!!
Good afternoon, I would like to ask you a question...
I have traktor pro 4 and two kontrol D2 controllers and a pioneer A9 table.
With the Kontrol D2 I have the option of listening to the song before loading it by previewing it and I can't get it to play. In the Traktor program you can see how the preview is activated and the preview is activated but it doesn't play through the headphones, it's because configuration issue?? thanks in advance.

Have you routed Output Preview somewhere in Traktor Pro Preferences in Output Routing pane? You'll have to acitivate Cue on the input/channel where you routed Output Preview to on your DJM-A9.
As far as I know DJM-A9 has no dedicated preview input via USB that you can use for it. Therefore you'll have to load a track in a Traktor deck, play it and use the Cue function of your DJM to preview a track. Just like it was back in the days with a turntable.

Hello @maniacintosh81
Thanks for answering, if I have tried to route several options and none of them work, I'm afraid that's what you're saying, I won't be able to listen to the songs without them being loaded on the decks, it's strange that it can't be done since the D2 or the It gives the option to do this but if the sound passes through the table it does not allow that sound to be placed in the headphones, it does allow me to put it on a channel but it is not correct since I use the 4 channels of the A90 -
I wonder if you can route the preview player to the mic channel?
I use a DJM-850 and I really like loading to a track to preview, because it gives you the ability to keep the fader at 0 to avoid any nasty mistakes, and, it lets you use the CUE button on each channel for previewing. 👍️
You don't need to set any additional preferences. The only change is, that you load a track to a channel instead of previewing it, then you handle the previewing using the cue button on each channel. Gives you a nice visual output of what you are cueing, too.

As you mix external (outside of Traktor software) on your DJM you need a fifth audio stream into the mixer to use Traktor preview player. (The other four streams being the four decks.) Traktor supports this. Although DJM-A9 supports a fifth audio stream via USB, this stream is routed directly on the master bus as I understand the manual as it is the return path of send/return. Therefore Traktor preview player can‘t be used with DJM-A9 the way you desire.

Yes I do that now without problems and it is true that it gives me more vision of the song but I come from the Kontrol S8 and the habit of having that pre-listening is great for me since I don't know or I don't remember all the songs that I have for that reason It's listening to them before loading it on the decks, for me it's quicker to look for the right song for that moment... But I have to learn the songs or get used to loading them on the deck hehehe, I have no other choice... Thanks for answering.

Correct, I would need a fifth output to locate the cue, when I use the Technics with the time-code on tracks 1 and 4. On 2 I add the cue like this, if I can use it.
I'm afraid I won't be able to have that option when I'm using all 4 decks.
Now pioneer has released the link cue option and in the latest controllers released you can already pre-listen to the song before loading it, I think it is faster and better when selecting a song, especially if you don't know the entire playlist you have. .

I love the pre listening feature. On my xone 96 I have it does routed to one of the fx return channels.

It works with A and B (return channels) and 1-4 (the main channels) but not C and D (the mics). I guess it depends on how the mixer interface is configured. I would have liked to have the preview go through C or D since i don't need equaizers for previewing and i am using far less than 2 microphones.

Could something like this be routed on the pioneer A9, microphone or other type of signal?
It would be nice to be able to generate something like that...0 -
You are the ones that owns one, you tell me :p what options do you have in the drop down in output routing?
maniacintosh81 said no,it's not possible.

As I don’t have a DJM-A9 my statement relies on information of its manual.

@lord-carlos thanks !!!
I think some DJM 900 or 750 or even 800 user has used this option to preview the song before loading it into the decks.

Looks like it has 5 inputs, which probably is the 4 decks and the return which on that mixer might be mixed into master. Just like maniacintosh81 said.
You could try routing the last two channels and see what happens.

If I already located those last two channels and nothing... Well, I don't think it's possible... Wow!!! I have been using this option all my life with the Kontrol S8, I have wanted to change to a higher level device for the sound and quality and it does not have the function that I wanted most for me.
As a setup comes out, I keep playing with techniques and timing control so I can preview it on one channel instead of just using two for the DVS.Thank you all for the clarifications and if you see the possibility of doing something I would appreciate the comment.
Greetings.

I don't know the a9, but from looking at images you have to set a channel to return? Did you do that?
