M32 Komplete Kontrol firmware updater not working
On Sonoma 14.7.1 on a 2019 16in MacBook Pro (Intel). Just bought a KK M32 and the firmware needs updating…but the firmware updater doesn't work. The keyboard clearly needs the update. Anyone have a fix for this? thanks in advance

When you say "Doesn't work" can you clarify what happens? Does it freeze, not start, show an error message etc?

Does nothing. I click on the app and nothing happens. Just wondering if they haven't updated the app for Sonoma. (thanks for taking the time!)

Let's start with some basic information. What firmware has your M32 got now?
Where are you getting the idea that it needs updating? Which firmware updater are you trying to use?
Why does the M32 "clearly need" the update?
Did you read the info text (the part that says "FW1.0.2 only works on devices produced after 2022. If your unit is older, FW1.0.2 will not be listed - there is no functional difference. FW0.4.5 is the latest for your unit")?

I don’t know what firmware I have. It is the firmware I received with the unit. Just bought new but it might be older stock. I don’t know. The firmware updater I am trying to use is KKM_FWUpdater_3.17.0_Mac.zip. I was informed by an onscreen prompt on the Maschine 2.0 software that my keyboard firmware needed updating. I also tried the older firmware updater file and that did the same thing. I run the executable and nothing happens. As for “clearly needing” the update. Some of the functions on the keyboard don’t work or do strange things. Thanks for your help.

What does the firmware updater show? Have you tried to move the installer to another location on your computer, like your desktop for example?
It should show something like this:
If you open Komplete Kontrol in standalone do you also get the message?
Can you give more details regarding the functions that don't work and the starnge things with the M32?

Thanks for getting involved.
I moved to the Desktop. I click on the app and nothing happens.
I then opened Komplete Kontrol as stand alone and received no message about a firmware update.
I can't remember what didn't work properly. I was pretty much just mucking around with function buttons…I will have a go over the next 24 hours and see if I can replicate some of those things.

Yes - I have done this and the same thing happens. The app logo expands then goes back to normal size. Nothing else happens
Ignore my previous comments about the keyboard not working properly. I think that may just be user error.
But I would really like to update to the latest firmware if I can.

Great to hear that the m32 is working. Still, the firmware updater not running is a strange issue. Here is how it should behave:
Do you have an antivirus or a property cleaner like CLean My Mac or one of these?

I have Clean My Mac. It is definitely not doing what you show in the video.

Ok, then I would suggest to uninstall CleanMyMac, restart your Mac and try again. Please read this article: Notes on Using Registry or Property List Cleaning Utilities

Hi I uninstalled Clean My Mac then ran the updater files from the desktop. Right click then open. MacOS provided dialogue box "are you sure you want to open this app" etc then the same thing happened. App logo expanded a little then nothing else happened.

hello guys can someone help me out? I bought komplete Kontrol M32 from 3rd party, but to way to hold the first user, it show all function in my Mac but the key board can not play, I contacted native instrument support but they can not help, can someone tell me what to do to be able to use it? thank in advance

Have you gone into your MIDI settings and checked that the M32 is activated. I had that problem…keyboard not playing - then realised this fixed it.

I have done that but is like it need license to use it in my system, and I can not get the seller for license transfer
