Traktor Pro 4 unusable because of frequent crashes

After numerous and repeated crashes of Traktor Pro 4 during a weekly gig I've downgraded to Traktor Pro 3, which is stable. Pro 4 is absolutely unusable in any real gig. Strangely, it works just fine at home, i.e., when not connected to the Kontrol S4 MK3.

The crashes go as follows (my member is supported by info from the Traktor Archive folder): (1) random time, about an hour or two into a gig; (2) playing a song, either Wav, or MP3, doesn't seem to matter, but a locally stored song; (3) suddenly the software stops responding to inputs from the S4, e.g., a browsing command or a loop command coming from the S4 [note: the software is dead at this point]; (4) audio cuts out completely within a minute; (5) the crash is so severe that Traktor cannot be closed [akin to a kernel panic].

Total garbage. A full refund of my money for the upgrade would not come close to recompensing me for this embarrassing hassle. I bought this Mac because I thought the crashes were the problem of using an older computer. In recent weeks is has been surprising when Traktor Pro 4 did not crash, which was a minority of the time.

Computer: MacBook Air M3 running Sonoma; Using Kontrol S4 MK 3.

Most often we hear about these problems with devices with Arm CPU, so NI still needs to improve this or get around the problem by using a device with x86 CPU.

    Trough years I learned to.

    1.Never use latest apple hardware.
    2.Never use latest macOS software.
3.Always have a backup setup ready.
4.Test all tracks before the gig.

Basic M1 CPU has more power that Traktor can even utilize so don't waste your money on a more powerful machines unless the purpose is more than DJing.

Since it only happens when S4 is connected, do you have any screen mods (QML files) installed?
Also did you try to Reinstall Traktor?

Yeah, great points about not being on the cutting edge. In retrospect my mistake was that when the crashes began, I was using a 5 year old Mac, and bought a fancy-ish mac thinking of longevity, but also thinking it was my computer that was the problem. No I don't have any screen mods installed. I've not tried a re-install. How would that work with native access? The real nightmare would be loosing my playlists (which I know can be exported). Re: testing new tracks - I either buy them, or get them from a record pool (I remember when they sent records) so I think the files are o.k. But good idea, I'll re-install.
