Maschine Expansions - Sample Rate and Bit Depth
I can’t seem to find this anywhere. What sample rate and bit depth are Maschine Expansions’ samples etc recorded at? Thanks in advance.

I 90% confident that they are 41k sample rate and 24 bit, I know that because when I try to put them on 48k project I need to convert them.
I might be wrong.

They're 44k1 24 bit.

why someone voted down, when the answer is right?

oh, I seen the typo now, my bad I meant 44k.

No it's 44k1, not 41k or 44k 🙂

Actually, it’s „44.1kHz“.
2 -
actually… 44100 Hz

All of the above (except 41k and 44k). 😁

ahaha fair enough, usually in a colloquial set up, I always hear it approximated, like "is the sample rate 44 or 48?"
and the 41 was a typo because I knew was 44100 and while I was typing I just wrote 41 by mistake. (indeed I didn't even noticed it until I tried to understand why there was a vote down)
anyway not a biggy, I believe he would get it anyway, assuming that when you ask the sample rate of something you know what you are talking about.
but fair enough if you feel that 44k was not clear enough, I guess if was a uni exam would had been a mistake.

@BravoBonez in summary this is the correct answer, 44100 Hz 24 bit.

thanks for the help on this. 44.1 accounts for the aliasing I hear on distorted guitar samples.

Theoretically 44.1kHz is fine, its what Audio CDs use after all.. I suppose aliasing might occur somewhere in the recording chain however in some cases, so typically things are recorded/processed with a higher samplerate than 44.1k most of the time, and then downsampled to 44.1 only at the last step with a high quality sample rate conversion algo. If you hear aliasing in some Maschine expansions, I cannot but think it to be intentional by the creators…?

Yes I'm curious to know which expansion has distorted guitar samples.

Guitar speakers cannot produce frequencies that would lead to aliasing with a sample rate of 44.1kHz. Additionally, professionally recorded distorted guitars are often low passed anywhere from 12kHz down to 4kHz to get rid of unwanted harsh frequencies.

Sorry I can’t remember which expansion it was. I was just going through a few of them. It wasn’t on all the samples, but on the more distorted, it was unmistakable. Maybe it was intentional.
