Maschine 2 AND Machine 3 Software Running on the same computer?

The title pretty much says it. Currently I have both Traktor 3 and Traktor 4 installed on my Macs. Will I be able to install the updated Maschine 3 software while keeping the existing 2 installation of 2.18.4 or will 3 replace that installation. If it replaces it, at the current time I have no reason to upgrade until I see how stable the new version is and what changes have been made before I change my workflow as a result. If this has already been answered please provide a link for me.

There is no official statement from NI yet, but out of my experience you will be able to install both.
On my system f.e. I also have Kontakt 5, Kontakt 6, Kontakt 7 and Kontakt 8 (yes, I should deinstall some older versions). Same with GuitarRig - so multiple Versions installed and all run well.

I dont see no reason why this wouldnt be possible. Out of all the commercial software I use, I have always been able to run all licenced versions of certain software on the same computer

Awesome! Thank you guys. I am relatively new to NI and Maschine (Love Both) and this is what I wanted - needed - to hear. Now, I'm really excited!

    Probably a beta tester.

And I hope what he is saying is true, cause in this case having both installed would be important, since many older versions of Maschine hardwares will work only with Maschine 2.

The real question is: will having both installed cause same kind of problems like KK did? (Older project being confused on which version to open)

My bad, i thought i wasnt sharing anything specific to the software operation itself and i thought the screen grab would be ok since they already released one. @D-One sorry bout that.

No prob… I was just worried you were unaware, so could potentially leak something more important later. This 2 versions thing isn't a big deal. I deleted it just in case.

Will we be able to have both Maschine 2 and Maschine 3 installed on a computer at the same time? I'm Maschine Plus User and need back and forth compatibility between my desktop and M+

Yes. So far everything works fine… But of course, you cannot open a Maschine3 project with Maschine2, it's not retro-compatible.

I have both Maschine 2 and 3 installed. Maschine 3's installation hasn't affected Maschine 2 at all. In Logic Pro I can have both the Maschine 2 and Maschine 3 plug ins working on the same project (although whether I would ever do that in practice is questionable).

So I could easily ensure I fully saved a project I used in Maschine 2, then update it to Maschine 3 if I wanted to.

I haven't got a Maschine +, but I'd be reluctant to upgrade to Maschine 3 until NI explained what the compatibility was.

I don't remember whats the status on Auto-Migration (auto loading Maschine 3 on a DAW project that has Maschine 2)… You might want to test that, or ask Matthew since hes very active right now.

I've got both Maschine 2 and Maschine 3 currently on my computer. Maschine 3 doesn't override Maschine 2 plug ins, so when I open an existing project with the Maschine 2 plug in on it, everything is fine and loads Maschine 2.. I can then open up a new midi channel and put either Maschine 2 or Maschine 3 on it and they will load the correct plugin. I can load my Maschine 2 projects, groups etc into Maschine 3 if I want.

I've obviously not tried seeing what happens if I remove Maschine 2 from my system and then open up Logic projects to see whether Maschine 3 automatically updates them or simply doesn't recognise them.

That's for some far braver person to try .
