Hi

Both Plugin Versions VST2 and VST3 of Massive are corretly installed and are in seperate foders. Tried multiple reinstalls of the plugin.

In Komplete Kontrol I can choose the VST2 version

but not in Ableton 12

This happens only on OSX, on Windows I see the VST2 Massive Plugin in Ableton.

The PluginScanner Log of Ableton says:

2023-11-15T14:05:12.559957: info: VST2: check plugin at path: "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Massive.vst" [""]
2023-11-15T14:05:13.411516: error: VST2: Code signature verification failed for "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Massive.vst" with error -67054 (a sealed resource is missing or invalid)
2023-11-15T14:05:13.411538: error: VST2: Failed to load plugin: plugin has an invalid signature
2023-11-15T14:05:13.411546: info: VST2: not a plugin

Thanks for your assistance.

Cheers, Senad

I thought VST2 on MacOS (under Apple Silicon) can only be used under Rosetta?

Assuming you are using a modern Mac - VST3 is the way forward.

    Yeah, I think so.

Not sure if there even is a VST2 version installed anymore on Mac?

    Hi Folks

Thanks for your anwsers. I'm using Sonoma on an intel mac. so i do not think, thats related to rosetta, no?

It is installead and I can use it via komplete controll, but not as the vst2 alone. The point is, that i have a lot of projects runnig with the vst2 plug

If there's no way, I have to rebuild all the stuff on the windows machine :-(

Komplete Kontrol would be using the VST3 version now unless it’s a really old version

Rosetta is an emulator designed to bridge the transition between Intel and Apple processors. It translates apps built for Intel so they will run on Apple Silicon (like the M1 chip).

    See here

What Is Rosetta 2 and How Do You Install It on a Mac? (makeuseof.com)

Not a Mac user but it is my understanding that it is slower and clunkier than running native.

They don’t need Rosetta as they are in Intel already

@Kymeia I suggest, that komplete kontrol loads the vst2 plugin (see screen above) and yes, there is the vst2 plugin installed in the /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST folder

I did now a complete reinstall (deleting all items).. but still no luck.

Running a deep scan in ableton. will see what the log tells

It might just be blacklisted then. Try the deep scan but first remove the plugin from the plugin folder, then do a scan, then return it and do the deep scan, that should force it off the blacklist if it is that

    @Kymeia

Thanks for all your suggestions. Unfortunately nothing helped :-(

It seams, that I had some installation problems on the Mac. But.. lucky me. I have also an mac laptop with all Audio Tools installed. There Massive VST2 work there like expected.

As I'm not so good in debugging the mac os, I've spend some night hours to restore my imac with this backup and have reconfigured my mac. Thats was much quicker than reinstalling the whole machine :-)

    All the best to you

Hey I would suggest to try and open Massive in standalone, check if it's opening or crashing.

Then apply these steps to Massive (even if it doesn't crash): My NI Software Crashes at Startup (macOS)

    Delete this file: Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > VST > Massive.vst

    Open Ableton. Close Ableton.

Reinstall Massive in Native Access. Open Massive in standalone.

Open Ableton, go to the plugin preferences and click and hold "alt" while clicking "Rescan", which will force Ableton to scan ALL plugins.
