You might want to try reading the manual.

thanks', I was a little overwhelmed, with no instructions, or where to get them included, But I dug around and played with my connections and I did get some sound out of it. at least now I have a start,,,I am going to need a little time to see how it all will connect together, and how to use my kontact 15 ultimate with it, I need to find where to redeem my voucher also,

just out of curiosity, as I bought my maschine at lunch, and I had a power cable with it, did you buy it brand new?
if so when you register the serial number in Native Access you should get all the software included with it, including controller editor.

😀Yes I bought it new from NI . it only had a USB cable,,, But it does power it up,,, still trying to figure out if it needs the power supply,, I got it registered, and I think I got the software installed,,,I need some time to learn to navigate through the software on the Maschine and to figure out how to connect all my stuff together,,to start I went from Maschine to my audio interface with mide cable and and from 'line out' to 'instrument in' on the interface,,,,,how would I ask NI about the missing power supply?

"still trying to figure out if it needs the power supply"
It tells you in the manual (page 23). Also if there's no PSU in the box and it works without one, it should be fairly simple to deduce. 😁

I suggest to get one.
Using Maschine plugged with power supply has multiple advantages, from having leds and screens more visible to solving some small grounding issues with its audio interface

Adding to the discussion with a question about the MASCHINE MK3 GETTING STARTED guide. I'm at page 35 and I can't seem to find the options listed in the guide to match what I've downloaded from Native Access. I have everything possible downloaded to my setup but can't see the 'Urban Kit' etc in the browser. Have I missed something?

This is because the example kits come from the Maschine 2.x library. Since we are now using 3.0, you won't find them there anymore because the 3.0 library (MAS Central) uses other, new sound kits.
This confused me as a beginner too. But you can also use a different sound kit for training.
The NI start guide is really good for learning. I started 2 weeks ago and it's working great. But you do need a bit of patience.

@noonandrew I've just taken a look at the guide, and noticed it refers to loading "a drum kit" and to "choose a drum kit" - it really doesn't matter which one.
The "Urban Kit" is a tag that refers to the type of kit (urban), not the name of an actual kit.

What adds even more confusion is that the Urban Kit sub-type tag isn’t available anymore (it wasn’t even in Maschine 2)

Thanks for the comments, I thought perhaps that I'd missed something during install. Will improvise, since, isn't that what it's all about anyway? 😀
