Apply Traktor effects to vinyl inputs with DJM-250 MK2

Hi

I've searched around but can't find an answer to this - am I able to apply Traktor effects when mixing vinyl, and if so what is the correct routing and setup? I've tried lots of variations but can't seem to make them work with this mixer and wondering if it's possible or not? Thanks for any advice!

I worked out what I was doing wrong - I had the mixer set to phono output, thinking that would go through Traktor but I had to switch it to the USB output. I previously assumed that playing vinyl through the USB output would not work……but yes you are right it has a delay which is quite horrible!

    I see two ways:

You need a mixer with send/return. For example Xone 96.

The DJM 450 might have it as well. I don't think the DJM-250 mk2 has it.

You send the signal of master or a deck into traktor, and traktor send it back to the mixer with added effect.

    Or:

Set the decks to live input. So the vinyl goes through traktor. In my experience this adds a delay. Buy I think with your mixer that is your only option.

Thanks, I tried this second option as I realised no send/return but Traktor seems not to apply any effects at all through the Live Deck….

I'm sure I'm probably missing something very simple in Settings. For the Effects settings should I have insert, send or post fader or does it not matter?

Traktor effects definitely work on live input.

On an external mixer it might need to be set to insert? Send is only when you use send/return.

And remember to assign the fx to a deck.
