It's impossible to tell if a stem track is on or off in a dark club
I'm using Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 and when I turn off vocal stem for example, the light on pads is just a little bit darker but the color is the same and I can't really tell in a dark environment if it's on or off. Messed up transition few times because stem stayed off after switching tracks and I thought it's on because it's the same color.

True, some of the colours are pretty bright in their off state or comparably dim in their on state. I'm thinking about picking specific ones in the same general colour pattern for Traktor generated stems that yield better on/off contrast to include in one of my next performance mod updates, since i don't believe at all that NI will do this for the S4MK3 with their limited resources spent on major bugfixing.

Blink when muted would be my preference here. I think that going dimmer would not illuminate entire pad/button and would not look professional.

None of the colours in the palette are dim on the performance pads. Blinking may be a good idea. :D.

I'll have the blinking muted mute pads in my next PerformanceMod update as soon as we have another Traktor update.

Yes i messed up more than a few times because of this. It's also hard to tell on the software. If they would make the waveforms dim that would be huge!

Yes, just like on the S5/S8/D2 screens.

Muted stem channel should have gray waveform.
