Maschine stuck on waiting for product scan only with SSD plugged in

Whenever I try to use maschine, it will stay forever on the "waiting for product scan" screen. However, whenever I remove my external ssd with all my libraries on it, it seems to work perfectly. I want to use my libraries with Maschine so I dont know what I can do to solve this. I tried running Maschine as administrator on Windows, and bought an entirely new ssd, but the problem still persists.

    Speed is normal.

Are you sure it's waiting for product scan and not Plug-In scan? Product scan should run in the background and not affect the usage of the SW/Controller.

If it's product related, then make sure NA paths to libs point to the SSD, in NA2 click a product then "Installation Paths", if all is good then maybe your product database is corrupt or something, delete it then run Maschine to create a fresh one with this procedure:

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210277145-My-Maschine-2-Browser-is-Empty-or-Incomplete

If startup is freezing then it should be an issue with a specific plugin, you might need to temporarily remove it, the loading screen says the plug name causing the freeze, or you can press ESC to stop the plugin scan.

Thats odd. I'd start by running DiskMark to check if your SSD is running at the expected speeds.

In what file format did you format the SSD in, NTFS?

What exactly are "my libraries"? What's on there?

Did you install from Native Access straight to the external drive, or did you move stuff onto it after you'd installed elsewhere?

Are there any VSTs on there? VST3s need to live in a specific location on your computer.

Resetting the product database seemed to have fixed the problem! I'll update if it stops again but for now it looks all good!

Just dropping in to share that in my experience, deleting the komplete.db3 file from C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Maschine 3 solved my issue. this is with Maschine 3 not running. In my case, it would only get stuck while my SSDs were connected. They are connected to my laptop through a USB hub. Didn't have this problem until suddenly today out of nowhere. If I unplugged the USB hub or powered off the specific ports to which the SSDs are connected, Maschine got unstuck.

    Hope this helps someone!
