I found out the hard way.The best to use Komplete is Having a Harddrive with no less than 2tb (ssd if possible) and only content made for NI Komplete

    No, that's not quite right.

I would agree on the 2TB of freespace requirement, although you can actually fit quite a lot in 2TB. More freespace is better.

But I actually have 4 drive partitions on 2 separate SSDs, and all 4 of those have various libraries on them, some of them NI, and some of them from Arturia or other makers.

It helps to stay organized and don't get yourself or Native Access confused. It also helps if you make your library drives attached through SATA, but USB can work if everything functions perfectly.

I think 2 Tb SSD, M.2 could be not big enough when you have Komplete Collector 14 (only NI and external NKS Partners on the disk, about 400GB free) and you want to go to Komplete 15 Collectors Edition. I wished i had a solution to get the content distibuted on more drives. 4Tb are still expensive and maybe not compatible with older boards eg PCIe 4.0.

Yes, I agree with this. 2TB may very well be too small for all of CE.

    Wait…I can calculate that….brb!

Okay, Komplete 14CE is already over 1.8 TB on this Windows 11 machine. So I wouldn't even bother with a 2TB drive at all for 15CE. Because once you add any libraries from EastWest, Heavyocity, SonicCouture, Arturia, or the like, you'll be getting close to 3…or even 4 TB.

I would buy an 8 TB SSD.

    Wait…that's what I already did! 😁
