Access MIDI Assignment Editor / Update Firmware

I have an M32. When I click on the button in Komplete Kontrol to for the MIDI Assignment Editor it says I need to update the firmware, but the instruction I see online say that firmware updates should be detected automatically when you launch KK, but I don't get any updates.

So how do I update my firmware? Or do I really need to? Is something wrong with KK? How do I check my firmware version, and what version do I need?

You can download firmware updaters from this page - Downloads : Drivers & Other Files | Support (native-instruments.com)

The 1.4.0 updater will update your keyboard to firmware version 0.4.1

OK great, I found the updater there. But now when I ran it, the update never finishes and my M32 is just saying "Firmware Update in Progress". I am afraid to unplug it now in the middle of this, but it has been going on for several hours now! I am trying to update from 0.3.4 to 0.4.5.

Well, I unplugged the M32 and reconnected it and fortunately it still works, but the upgrade didn't happen. I'm a bit scared to try again, but I have upgraded once or twice in the past.
