Native Instruments Upgrade vs Update

Anyone know the difference, apart from the price, between an Upgrade and an Update to Komplete Collector’s Edition.

Upgrade is a move from one "level" of Komplete to a higher one - like say moving from K14 Standard to K15 ULT

Update is a linear move from your current level to the same level but in a newer product line:

Example - for me this would a move from K14 ULT → K15 ULT.

Log in. Go to the page of the one you want. It will tell you what you're eligible for. If you're already at Collectors' Edition, that's the highest tier. There is no upgrade from that, only update.

Thanks for the information. That is from the Native Instruments website. But that webpage does not explain the difference when one has only one product.

I have Komplete 13 Collector’s Edition.

Can someone please explain how the Upgrade would affect that.

And how the Update would affect that.

Does anyone know if Updates are heavily discounted in Native Instruments sales?

Summer of Sound (around June) is where you can usually expect 50% off of products - including Updates. Cyber Season (around November) is another sale, but whenever Komplete is on sale or not depends on if a new version was just released. So, this year it won't be.
