Kontrol S4 mk3 Play button stopped working.

Last night the left-hand Play / Pause button on my S4 Mk3 stopped working. I've reinstalled Traktor Pro 4 (in Windows 11), uninstalled and reinstalled the Asio driver, and done a full reset of the S4 from within the Traktor preferences. It works in all ways, i.e. lights up dim when a track is loaded and bright when a track is playing, so hasn't been disconnected inside the S4, but when I press on it, ut won't play the loaded track. I can only play and pause the track by clicking on the button in the Traktor software. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

    The Play and Cue buttons have problems with the contacts. My personal solution was to press them down hard, especially the corners. This is NOT a recommendation, just my personal way to have them reactive again.

    Why do i think this is a general problem with the contacts? All 4 buttons on my S4 developed this symptom, and my solution didn't break them (i didn't overdo it) and now they are working again.

    Problem still re-appears sooner or later…

    Do you have a with Traktor exported backup *.tsi file including your s4mk3 settings? Replacing that helped me out once in TP3.

    Autsch, if i had this trouble with these buttons i would have replaced the device at the local dealer. Nevermind, i've got these trouble with the knobs in filter section😑

    Think I'll just put arcade buttons when mine fails. I don't hit them hard though so they still work fine and I got my unit after the release so it is already heavily used and old one.

    Only down side for me are these pad-buttons which are same as DDJ-400 and FLX4. Especially if you are used to something like an arcade buttons for triggering sounds.

    They have issue with inconsistant Note Off message same as the DDJ hardware. So they are good for toggle type of commands so I have them mapped to change modes on my Midi Fighters. (don't like using side buttons and found pads on S4 perfect for that purpose)

    I wish i had arcade buttons for my cue buttons. If they ever fail me, i will order some … my S4 is first generation as well. ;)

    I have had the same problems and its a software issue not a hardware button issue.

    I have raised a bug with Support.

    In my situation the track plays but no audio is heard. It also re-enables if I randomly push/enable the loop and move dials then eventually the cue points and play buttons re-enable. Its working fine in Traktor 3 for me, just in Traktor 4.
