komplete kontrol s88 mk2 sustain pedal compatiblity
Hello community, I need to replace my old sustain pedal and I was looking at, ideally, getting a double one with half pedalling support. Kawai offers the F-20 double pedal which looks ideal, but I'm not sure it's supported. Alternatively there's the Roland RPU-3, but again not sure if the mk2 supports it...
Any thoughts?
Much obliged for the help!

Thank you Matt, but I had already checked that list before posting. My question is about specific pedals and whether the S88 supports 3 pedals....?

Hey Bollen,
Well, if the pedal you mention is not in the list of supported pedals, it means it wasn't tested or wasn't compatible. You can see there are only 2 models that have 3 pedals in our list:

Thank you, Jeremy. I was hoping there would be some users with some experience with those pedals. I did find a post in the old forum of someone saying that they got the Roland RPU-3 to work, but only two pedals. The S88 manual doesn't say anything about the type of connectors it accepts, so I suppose my remaining question is: does the S88 Mk22 accept the stereo type cable that the Fatar, mentioned above, comes with? Can you actually get all three pedals to work?

You rock! Thank you!

Understood, hopefully @Simchris can give you more insight. It should accept the stereo cable (in our sheet, TRS aka Tip Ring Sleeve means stereo, TS aka Tip Ring is mono). One important thing to mention is that the software instrument or library should have settings for half damper pedals as well, it's not always the case.

Thank you Jeremy. Yes, the libraries have that setting, but I'm also interested in using it as an expression pedal with a spring. I think it might be easier than the regular.
So the s88 mk2 can definitely support 3 pedals simultaneously?

I'm really sorry but I'm a bit confused now. There are only 2 physical inputs for pedals, A and B. I'm afraid that this special setup you want to have hasn't been tested. We can't guarantee it will work.

OK, but in the page of supported pedals it says it supports two three-way Fatar pedals. These pedals come with two plugs, one mono (TS) and one stereo (TRS). Therefore it must mean that the TRS must be able to cope with two pedals, no? Otherwise why list them as compatible?
Could you please check with the appropriate department?
I would happily buy a Native Instrument pedal set if you had them and I avoid all this headache!

Ok, I get what you mean now. Again, only the Fatar were tested and are guaranteed to work. Not a bad idea about a NI pedal, it would also avoid headaches for us :)
