Help troubleshooting 2nd hand Kontrol s4 mk3?

I bought a 2nd hand Kontrol s4 mk3 and am having serious issues with the audio output when using Traktor Pro 3.

I can use the s4 perfectly fine in standalone mode. Hooked up 2 turntables and get good sound quality over the mains and cue when they're set to EXT phono. However, as soon as I connect the s4 to Traktor there is basically no output from the software deck and what little sound there is is incredibly distorted. The cues also don't work at all while it is connected. Nothing from the cue button or the mix dial.

I've swapped out USB cables and tried Traktor on both Mac (os 12.7.6) and PC (Win 10 Education 22H2) but have the same issue. Tried all sorts of audio routing options as well. The only time I can get good sound is if I set the audio device to the Mac's speakers but even then the cue still doesn't work.

I would assume that the s4's internal audio interface is used in both standalone and connected modes but I could be wrong? Has anybody run across something similar before or know of any troubleshooting tips?

I’ve fixed the problem, or at least I’ve done so on my Mac, not sure if the same applies to pc.

This morning I manually deleted all files for Traktor and Kontrol using the from the NI website (can’t post link as account is too new). I then downloaded and installed Traktor 3.8 and connected the s4 fresh for setup.

All audio issues are now fixed and additionally the motorised platters now function correctly where as they didn’t engage previously.
