Traktor Pro 3.9 onwards S4 MK3 unusable due to no OpenGL 2.0

Hello. I have never been able to update past 3.8 due to an error message that comes up stating that support for OpenGL 2.0 or higher was not found and that my graphics cards drivers need to be updated if I want to use my S4 MK3.

I use onboard graphics from the CPU which is Intel HD Graphics 3000 and it supports Open GL up to 3.1. The drivers are fully up to date.

Support for Direct X was stopped with 3.9 and I think this is why I am having this problem. I can't update to 3.9 or later (including TP4) which is annoying as the flashing browser bug was fixed with TP4 and this is the only thing I want it for.

Any help would be appreciated.

A quick search shows that probably only OpenGL 3.1 is supported.

It is possible that Traktor is checking from the minimum version and because this is not available there are conflicts, but a developer would have to comment on this.

Thanks for your reply. The error message does state "or higher". I presume 3.1 is higher than 2.0 so in theory it should be compatible.

But maybe he's looking for the lowest common denominator first and that's why it fails; I can't explain it any other way.

Support should really take a look at the case to find out exactly what the problem is.

The 3.9 update notes state the following:

"REMOVED Support for DirectX on Windows

Graphics cards supporting OpenGL 2.1 are now mandatory on Windows. Support of older graphics cards using DirectX is deprecated."

Have you installed the latest Intel driverss?

HD 3000 was released in 2011, there are no new graphics drivers, but you could still test it without a graphics driver managed by Windows itself.
