Hitting Cue Points with Quant on
Hi,
I am using Traktor now for a while now and just upgraded to Traktor 4 Pro. One reason I upgraded was that i was hoping hitting Cue points with quant on would behave different, but unfortunately it does'nt.
I play Techno and use Cue points a lot, mostly to rearrange a tune or skip parts of it. This works fine, but it bothers me that even though the sync is awesome, I have to have precise timing when hitting a cue point in order to make it sound smooth.
Last year I played on a wedding and they only had Pioneer Hardware, so I took a day to learn how to use it. I would prefer Traktor over it any day but it did one thing better: when I hit a cue point, it would 'wait' until the next beat and then jump there automatically, making butter smooth transitions to a Cue point.
With Traktor I have to hit it at the right time, which I am fairly ok with, since I play the drums and have a good feeling for the beat, but in the heat of the moment it happens that I am slightly off and sometimes this results in awkward little pauses or a drop that happens a little too late.
I searched the settings multiple times, but the only setting that comes close to it is the CUP setting, but that does not affect jumping to a Cue Point. I asked the community in the Traktor subreddit about this, but no one had a fix or an explanation.
Since I just joined, I am not allowed to post a link, but if you google 'reddit traktor_quantize_vs_pioneer_quantize' you will find it as one of the top search results.
It seems to me that quant does nothing in this case and it is only the sync that keeps the tracks in phase. Is this a known issue, or is this intentional? Are there any plans to change this so we can have these 'automatic' transitions?
It is literally the only thing that bothers me, apart from that I am very happy with Hard- and Software.
I would be happy for any input or clarification on the matter.

Just a couple of questions:
Do you have this in SETTINGS » TRANSPORT:
What does your grid look like on Traktor Pro 4?
See below my cue 2 is totally off time, the snap doesn't work like that when setting cue 2 if the grid is off sync.If I needed to fix a cue manually I would turn off snap, set it on the play head.
But you shouldn't have to do that in your music style as mentioned, if the gird is aligned from start to finish which my above examples are deliberately incorrect. Cue 2 is what you get automatically with SNAP ON, cue 3 is what we can achieve with SNAP OFF.
Unless you are dealing with an anacrusis, a lead in by some seconds that exceed quantization limits then you would need to save / hit the cue manually ahead of time to deal with anacrusis with SNAP OFF, and obviously remember you have set it up that way. I often use this with acapella's.
Let me know if your grid isn't aligned or you are trying to work with anacrusis which is outside of the quantized mode range. As someone else suggested on reddit, you have more control over this with remix decks but I'm sure there is a way for individual track decks.
And send a screen shot! I love screen shots :)

There is a difference between the quantize (size?) of Traktor and Pioneer gear. And it's not the first time I hear that it's more pleasing to hot cue play on pioneer gear.
Would be cool if there was a global quantize setting similar to the remix deck.
